There are plenty of new models for the well-heeled arriving in 2017 across many segments including supercars, luxury sedans and the ever popular SUVs.

New Aston Martin luxury cars in 2017

The replacement for the DB9, the DB11, is a clean-sheet design. It's powered by the company's own turbocharged V12 engine and has a brand-new platform and upper body design. Reports suggest the DB11 is the start of a wave of new products coming from the British car brand, with seven new models expected by 2024. The Lagonda, a new bespoke super saloon that sees the revival of the historic Lagonda marque, is available in strictly limited numbers series. Offered predominantly in the Middle East, UK and Europe, it may well come to our shores.

New Audi luxury cars in 2017

The all-new A5/S5 two-door coupé (based on the all-new A4) will arrive in March.

Audi has three new SUVs that will come to market this year as well as four new sports cars.

New Bentley luxury cars in 2017

The facelifted Mulsanne is also expected before the middle of the year. It is the British car maker's flagship model and the facelift brings new technology, a completely redesigned front and rear for added road presence, plus new lights, grilles and wing vents. Bentley says the handmade model is also more opulent, comfortable and more technologically sophisticated than any previous Mulsanne. Bentlety's SUV, the Bentayga, will also go on sale this year.

New BMW luxury cars in 2017

The 740e is due this month and just before Valentine's Day, BMW will launch the all-new seventh-generation 5 series (just in case you're struggling to think of something for your other half). Initially the range kicks off with four models – 530i, 540i 520d and 530d (xDrive models available in all).

The flagship 760Li x Drive is due in Q2, with iPerformance vehicles and additional 5 Series variants due in the third quarter of the year, along with the 520d EfficientDynamics Edition and the M550i xDrive.

BMW's all-new X5 SUV will do on sale this year while the M3 and M4 GTS sports cars are also enroute.

New Genesis luxury cars in 2017

In the second half, comes the second model of Hyundai's offshoot Genesis brand, called the G70. The G70 is smaller than the current Genesis (now called the G80) and will go up against the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-class. Entry level variants are expected to house a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine and there are also two V6s. The 272kW/510Nm 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 is also expected to be in the line-up.

A facelift of the G80 is also expected this year timing is yet to be confirmed.

New Jaguar luxury cars in 2017

The popular XF sedan is due to spawn a new wagon variant, called the Sportbrake (current model shown), which Jag hopes will get to Oz late this year. The Sportbrake will compete with the BMW 5 Series Tourer, A6 Avant and Mercedes E-Class.

New Lexus luxury cars in 2017

Lexus' flagship luxury coupé, the LC, is due around the middle of the year. The LC replaces the SC430 and will come in two variants: the LC 500 and the LC 500h. The LC 500h will be the first model to benefit from Lexus' Multi Stage Hybrid system that adds a multi-stage shift device to the 3.5-litre V6 hybrid powertrain for greater torque and more usable power across a wider range of engine speeds. The LC 500 is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine with 351kW of power. Both engines are matched to the world's first 10-speed direct shift automatic transmission.

The UX concept will come to life - the all-new SUV is expected to make is debut.

New Maserati luxury cars in 2017

Maserati was one of the last to join the SUV party, with the all-new Levante released earlier this year.

New Mercedes-Benz luxury cars in 2017

In March, the new E-Class sedan adds a hybrid to the range with the launch of the E 350e, priced from $131,600. The new model is the first time the nine-speed auto will be featured in a plug-in hybrid vehicle. Its four-cylinder petrol engine with electric motor offers a combined output of 210kW and up to 550 Nm of torque. While it sprints to 100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds, the E 350 e uses just 2.4 litres per 100 kilometres and also offers an all-electric range of up to 30 kilometres.

The all-new E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet (both revealed at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this month) will arrive in December along with a facelifted version of the flagship S-Class luxury sedan.

Mercedes will release no one but three new SUVs this year as well as AMG versions of the E-class and the new GT, GTC and GT R sports models.
