The hotel

Opened in 2017, the Travelodge Sydney Airport is 500m from the entrance to the Domestic Terminals and 3.5km from the International Terminal. The hotel was built with the aim of refreshing travellers – after a night in a comfy bed, a hearty breakfast and a 11am check out time, you’ll be ready to get out and explore Sydney or fly out feeling revived. All day dining and a late night bar ensure guests can get what they need no matter when they arrive, and the restaurant, T’s Bistro, has a pleasant outdoor dining space. There’s also an 800 bay carpark (fees apply), luggage storage and laundry/dry cleaning services.

The rooms

The 209 rooms here include king rooms with oversized beds for stretching out and relaxing. The design theme is bright and airy, with some rooms boasting airport and city views. In room photographic art depicts scenes of aviation and the airport. Each room has a small table and chairs and room service is 24 hours. Bathrooms offer a shower over bath, toiletries and a hairdryer. Cots are free (subject to availability).

The neighbourhood

Sydney Airport is your gateway to the world, with shopping and dining aplenty, but it’s far from the only notable place in the region. The nearby suburb of Rosebery has undergone a resurgence – it’s no longer just business parks and warehouses. In a former factory, Three Blue Ducks serves a modern menu of grilled and wood-fired dishes in a hip space that stays true to its industrial roots. Superb Italian fare is available at Da Mario and Archie Rose distillery bar serves its own house-made gin, vodka and white rye. Line up for a gelato fix at the famed Messina, or discover inspiring Australian furniture design at Koskela. The suburb of Alexandria, too, is booming. The Grounds of Alexandria is a huge cafe featuring an organic garden and a flower shop, and there’s an award-winning trattoria, Pino’s Vino e Cucina, as well. Need a coffee? You can get an excellent croissant or superior beef pie with it at Bourke St Bakery’s Alexandria outpost. A 10 minute walk from the hotel, Mascot train station affords a quick journey into the city and don't worry about parking at Sydney Airport, it's a breeze with all the NRMA Member benefits available.
