Average regular unleaded prices are expected to rise the high 180s/low 190s over the coming week due to rising wholesale prices.
Next week unleaded fuel prices are expected to rise by up to 16 cents per litre from 3 August when the remaining fuel excise rebate is withdrawn. A further 1.5 – 2 cent increase in the fuel excise rate will come into effective on the same day - in line with the inflation increase for the first two quarters of 2026.
Average regular unleaded prices – 186.8 cents per litre – have risen 34.6 cents per litre since 30 June.
The average price increase for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 are as follows:
Sydney’s current average diesel price at 231.2 cents per litre. Prices have risen 54.9 cents per litre since 30 June. Diesel prices are expected to increase this week due to rising wholesale prices.
Similar price increases will occur for diesel fuels from 3 August with the with the removal of the fuel rebate and a 1.5 – 2 cents per litre increase to the fuel excise rate in line with inflation movement for the first half of 2026.
The current average LPG price in Sydney is 114.5 cents per litre – up 0.1 cents per litre this past week.
