The park

The friendly seaside city of Busselton is less than three hours’ drive south of Perth and just 20 minutes from the Margaret River wine region. The park is set in a peaceful bushland location on the western edge of town and bordered to the south by a lake. There’s an abundance of recreational facilities on site, including two large swimming pools, a nine hole mini golf course, a BMX bike track and cricket and football fields. Practical amenities include a kiosk, gazebos for barbecues and picnics, a modern camp kitchen and free wifi across the park.

The accommodation

The park features some of the most spacious camping sites in the state, including grassy unpowered sites for tents, grass and matted powered sites for campervans, caravans and motorhomes, and extra large “Big Rig” powered sites that can accommodate oversized caravans plus an additional vehicle. Groups can choose between open plan, motel style Studio Apartments which include kitchenettes or spacious One Bedroom Cabins with living rooms and full kitchens. Alternatively, some of the Two Bedroom Cabins sleep up to six. All studios and cabins are equipped with air conditioning, TVs and DVD players, large bathrooms and outdoor space with dining furniture.

The neighbourhood

Busselton is a charming city of about 15,000, with a number of great dining options close to the park. Check out The Goose for enticing hot breakfasts (including waffles for kids) or treat yourself to the upscale lunch and dinner menu. For a more casual option, Al Forno makes the best takeaway pizza and pasta in town; or visit locals’ favourite Café More for no fuss meals and reliably good coffee. Walk off the food along the iconic 1.8km Busselton Jetty and be sure to visit the Underwater Observatory at the far end to view coral and fish. A short drive away, Wonky Windmill Farm & Eco Park is always a winner with the kids and Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse near Dunsborough offers panoramic coastal views. Wine enthusiasts should consider one of the several dozen guided Margaret River tasting tours, which can collect you from the park and drop you back, or combine your love of cars and wine with an exclusive winery tour in a vintage Rolls Royce courtesy of Esquire Classic Charters.
