Geely EX2 hatch at a glance:
It is one of China’s most popular new cars, and now the Geely EX2 hatch is looking to emulate similar sales success in Australia, with competitive pricing confirmed today.
The 2026 Geely EX2 hatch has been anointed as Australia's cheapest electric car with five seats, retailing for $26,490 plus on-road costs for the Complete base model and moving up to $30,990 plus on-road costs for the flagship version.
At that money, the EX2 doesn’t quite best the BYD Atto 1 ($23,990 to $27,990 plus on-roads) for outright EV affordability, but then there’s an argument to say it might not need to, as the EX2 hatch is a slighter larger car offering five seats, a 375-litre boot, and rear-drive underpinnings.
The base spec Complete grade is powered by a 60kW/150Nm electric motor which draws power from a 35.3kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Range is set at 252km (WLTP test standards), while DC charging is rated up 60kW, and AC home charging at 6kW.

Standard equipment in the entry car includes 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. Meanwhile infotainment is taken care of by a 14.6-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch instrument display and four-speaker audio system.
The Geely EX2 hatch also gets autonomous emergency braking, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and assisted lane changes on motorways.
The flagship Inspire trim brings a more powerful 85kW/150Nm rear motor together with a 47.1kWh LFP battery for an extended 345km of WLTP range. AC charging remains capped at 6kW, while DC capacity is increased to 80kW.
The Inspire also comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, a powered tailgate, ambient lighting, heated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, a heated steering wheel and wireless phone charging. Audio is up upgraded to a six-speaker system, while a 360-degree camera adds better visibility in tight parking situations.

The entire EX2 line-up is underpinned by independent rear suspension, in a purported boon for ride and handling refinement.
First deliveries of the Geely EX2 will commence from July, with orders now open. Customers who order and take delivery between July 12 and August 31 will receive a free 7kW home charging unit and a no-cost upgrade to premium paint.
Stay tuned for the NRMA’s proper verdict on the Geely EX2 hatch in the coming weeks.
