Weekly special

Grassy Head Holiday Park is one of the hidden treasures of the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.

Tucked away in a lush coastal forest and near one of the area's most pristine golden beaches, this spot is ideal for those wanting to get back to nature or just looking to live the simple life for a little while.

The park

An easy 40 minute drive north from Kempsey, tucked away in a little corner of Macleay Valley, Grassy Head Holiday Park is nestled under a canopy of shady trees just 20 metres from unspoilt beach, close to rainforest and river. It puts an emphasis on simplicity; facilities include a barbecue area, free wifi, onsite kiosk, laundry and children's swing set, and open surrounds, make it the ideal city escape to relax and unwind from the daily grind.

The accommodation

Grassy Head Holiday Park offers a choice of bungalows, caravan and camping sites with close proximity to the beach, meaning you'll be lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature and wake to birdsong. Caravan and camping sites are powered or unpowered, and close to amenities, while bungalows offer a variety of sleeping configurations for up to four people. Linen is supplied in all accommodation, so leave the sheets at home. Four legged friends are also welcome on all powered and unpowered sites outside of high season dates, with a maximum of one small dog per site.

The neighbourhood

Here, you can escape from the pressures of the world. Relax, unwind and immerse yourself in the serene surrounding beauty. There's plenty of tranquil recreational activity opportunities abound. Grassy Head Beach, located directly opposite the Holiday Park, is an excellent surfing beach that's patrolled during the summer school holidays. It features a right hand beach break abundant with sea life which, on calm days, makes it the perfect spot for snorkelling. The southern rocks have the best access and gutters teaming with bream, drummer, flathead, luderick, mulloway, rock blackfish, tailor, trevally and whiting, ensuring fishermen of all skill levels will be sure to hook their catch of the day.

If you fancy venturing further out, try the bushwalk though Way Way State Forest or hike Mount Yarrahapinni in the Yarriabini National Park, and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the entire Macleay Valley Coast. A visit to Grassy Head is not complete without a visit to the lookout over Stuarts Point – with views right down to South West Rocks. Why not also try a lovely 6km walking circuit starting at Grassy Head back beach to Stuarts Point that returns along the bike track.
