Don't miss out on the fun
This is a free, fun-filled, family-orientated event for the whole community to enjoy. It's an opportunity for us to encourage more regional tourism, support communities in need, and develop a sustainable future.
There'll be a lot happening over the weekend, and all visitors are encouraged to see the event map and agenda at the Help Station, where Members will also receive a special commemorative pin.
Bright Futures Northern Rivers will be headlined by two of Australia's most iconic singer/songwriters, Kasey Chambers and Richard Clapton. The event also features local Byron Bay band Pink Zinc, loose knit group The Palm Wine Ambassadors, Happy Africa, and Byron Youth Theatre.
Fun for Kids
The kids will have a great time, with musical and interactive entertainment all day long. Look out for rock 'n' roll band Bunny Racket, and for more interactivity, children will love Rainbow Yoga, and our floral field, featuring scheduled plays, colouring workshops, exploration activities, and free giveaways.
The Sun Pavilion is where we'll discuss the collective actions we need to make to drive positive change. Expect a collection of insightful talks and presentations from a range of community groups and organisations. And, if you're keen to voice your opinion on issues impacting the community, there's a recording studio and poll for you to be heard.
Food and drink
There will be plenty of delicious food and drink to purchase over the weekend. Local food trucks such as The Salty Turtle, Crusta Woodfired, Mr Pulled, Crunchy's and Whips and Co are just some of your options. Remember, this is an alcohol-free event - no alcohol can be purchased or brought on site.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the NRMA holding public events to celebrate its centenary?
The NRMA is a bit different from most organisations. From the very beginning, we've been here to serve our Members, and everything we do is for them and the communities where they live, work and play. So it makes complete sense for us to to get out and share this milestone.

Why do you want me to register to attend?
By registering, you're simply helping us plan and prepare the best event possible for all involved. It will help with a number of things such as how many staff and volunteers we might need, how much food and beverage should be on sale, how best to manage safety and security, and even things like how many toilets we might need.
It's free to register and of course it's free to attend. If you register, you're not at all locked in to that date or session, you can choose to come at any time on either day. Registering will help keep you informed of the latest news and information as we get closer to the date of the event.
Will the event go ahead in bad weather?
We plan to go ahead, rain, hail or shine - unless conditions are deemed dangerous - so be sure you dress for the conditions on the day. If rain is forecast, choose suitable footwear and you might want to bring an umbrella, raincoat or poncho.
What should I bring?
Pack your reusable water bottles and coffee cups, as there'll be free water refill stations to keep you hydrated, along with café and food trucks to purchase other beverages. You're also welcome to bring a picnic blanket to make yourself comfortable. And, if you're an NRMA Member, bring along your Membership card or have the my nrma app ready to claim your free commemorative pin.
Can the NRMA provide ideas on what to do and where to stay in the Northern Rivers area?
Yes, we have a local's guide which provides information on where to eat, what to do and where to stay - see our Northern Rivers local's guide.
Additionally, we've organised a road trip itinerary for those interested in driving from Sydney to attend the event - see our Sydney to Gold Coast road trip.
Can someone attend the events if they're not an NRMA Member?
The NRMA has always existed to serve both our Members, and the communities in which they live, work and play. As such, both Members and non-Members are a part of our story and reason for being, so all are welcome and encouraged to join us at these events. These are celebrations meant for everyone in our community to enjoy. So, if you or anyone you know not is not a Member, that's not a problem - we'd still love to see you all there and getting involved.
